How to watch IPTV on Roku

Updated October 2026·5 min read·By the VOLTIX team

Roku doesn't run the big IPTV players (IPTV Smarters, TiviMate) and there's no practical sideloading, so the method is different. That doesn't mean you're stuck. Here are the approaches that actually work, and an honest note on the easiest option.

Straight answer: the quickest way to watch on a Roku TV is to screen mirror from your phone or a Windows PC. If you want a native app experience, a cheap Firestick in the next HDMI port is the simplest upgrade, see our Firestick guide.

Method 1: screen mirroring from Android or Windows

You run the IPTV app on a phone or PC and mirror the picture to the Roku.

  1. On the Roku, go to Settings → System → Screen mirroring → Screen mirroring mode and choose Prompt or Always allow.
  2. On an Android phone or a Windows PC, open your IPTV player, signed in with your VOLTIX login, and start a channel.
  3. Android: open Smart View (Samsung phones) or your phone's Screen mirroring / Wireless display option. Windows 11: press Win + K and choose Connect to a wireless display. Pick your Roku, then choose Allow on the TV.

Google Pixel phones can't mirror to a Roku: use another Android phone, a PC, or an iPhone (Method 2).

Method 2: AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad

Most Roku TVs and 4K Roku sticks support Apple AirPlay.

  1. On the Roku, open Settings → Apple AirPlay and HomeKit and turn AirPlay on.
  2. On the iPhone or iPad, start a channel in your IPTV player (see our iPhone guide).
  3. Open Control Centre → Screen Mirroring, pick the Roku and enter the code if the TV shows one.

Method 3: an IPTV player from Roku's store

Roku's store has a few IPTV players that take an M3U link or an Xtream login. If you want everything on the Roku itself:

  1. Search Roku's store for IPTV player and add one that supports Xtream or M3U.
  2. Enter your VOLTIX login or M3U link (some apps ask you to add it on their website, using a code shown on the TV).
  3. Your channels load inside that app.

Your server URL, username, password and M3U link are in the welcome email we send you right after you buy. It has two playlist links: the full playlist (live TV, movies and series) and Live TV only, a much smaller list for TV apps that are slow or cannot load the full one.

These Roku apps come and go, usually start with a free trial and then charge a small fee to their maker, and they are simpler than the big players. If you mostly watch IPTV, a stick is the better route.

The easiest option, be honest with yourself

If you use the TV mainly for IPTV, a Firestick or Google TV device gives a far better native experience than working around Roku's limits, and both cost very little. Your same VOLTIX login works on all of them.

Roku IPTV FAQ

Can I install IPTV Smarters or TiviMate on Roku?
No, neither has a Roku app. Use screen mirroring from a phone or PC, one of the IPTV players in Roku's store, or add a cheap Firestick.
Does screen mirroring work in 4K?
Quality depends on your phone or PC and your Wi-Fi. For guaranteed 4K, a native device like a Firestick is the better route.
Is there any way to get a native app?
Yes, a few IPTV players in Roku's store take an M3U link or an Xtream login, but they are simpler and less reliable than the big players. For the full experience a Firestick or Google TV stick is the better route.
