How to watch IPTV on a Windows PC or Mac
A computer is one of the easiest ways to watch IPTV: you can use a full desktop player or play your link in VLC. This guide covers both on Windows and Mac.
In a hurry? Start a free 24-hour VOLTIX trial (no card), then set up a player below in a couple of minutes.
Set up a desktop player, step by step
Step 1: Choose and install a player
For the full experience with a guide, install MyIPTV Player (free, from the Microsoft Store) on Windows, or IPTVX from the Mac App Store on a Mac. For a quick channels-only setup, VLC works on both platforms. (IPTV Smarters Pro has no official download right now: its maker's site is offline, so skip copies from other sites.)
Step 2: Add your VOLTIX login
In MyIPTV Player open Settings → Add new playlist and EPG source, paste your VOLTIX M3U link under Remote channel list, choose Add remote list, go back and press Refresh. In IPTVX add your Xtream login (server URL, username, password) or your M3U link.
Your server URL, username, password and M3U link are in the welcome email we send you right after you buy. It has two playlist links: the full playlist (live TV, movies and series) and Live TV only, a much smaller list for TV apps that are slow or cannot load the full one.
Step 3: Load and watch
The channel list loads automatically. On a Mac, if an app from outside the App Store is blocked the first time, try to open it once, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, choose Open Anyway and confirm with your password (that is Apple's Gatekeeper, and it is normal).
VOLTIX restreams every channel through its own servers with a generous buffer, so a desktop stream that used to stutter on a raw provider line stays smooth.
Best IPTV players for Windows & Mac
| Player | Best for | Platform |
|---|---|---|
| MyIPTV Player | Free full player, from the Microsoft Store | Windows |
| IPTVX | Polished player, from the Mac App Store | Mac |
| VLC | Quick M3U playback, no guide | Windows & Mac |
How to play an M3U link in VLC
- Open VLC and go to Media → Open Network Stream (on Mac, File → Open Network).
- Paste your VOLTIX M3U link and press Play (on Mac, Open).
- Open View → Playlist (on Mac, Window → Playlist) to browse the channel list.
VLC is great for a quick check, but it has no TV guide or favourites. For those, use a full player above.
