How to install IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV
Samsung's Tizen system doesn't let you sideload apps the way a Firestick does, so the method is a little different, but it's still quick. The most reliable Samsung players today work by MAC address: you install the app from the TV's own Apps store, it shows a code on screen, and you add your VOLTIX playlist on the app maker's website from your phone. The current apps need a Samsung from about 2019 onward.
In a hurry? Start a free 24-hour VOLTIX trial (no card), then follow Method 1 below. You'll be watching in a few minutes.
What you'll need
- A Samsung Smart TV running Tizen (about 2019 or newer)
- An active VOLTIX subscription (your M3U link)
- A phone or computer, to add your playlist on the app's website
- A connection of at least 25 Mbps for 4K
Method 1: Smart IPTV (by MAC address)
Smart IPTV is the best-known Samsung player, and it is in Samsung's own store.
- On the TV press Home, open Apps and use the search at the top right (sign in with your Samsung account if asked).
- Search for Smart IPTV, install it and open it. Note the MAC address it shows on screen.
- On a phone or computer, go to siptv.app/mylist, enter that MAC address, paste your VOLTIX M3U link into the URL field and send it.
- Restart the app on the TV: your channels are there.
Your server URL, username, password and M3U link are in the welcome email we send you right after you buy. It has two playlist links: the full playlist (live TV, movies and series) and Live TV only, a much smaller list for TV apps that are slow or cannot load the full one.
Smart IPTV has a free trial, then a one-time activation fee of 5.49 EUR per TV at the time of writing, paid to the app maker at siptv.app, not to us.
Method 2: IBO Player Pro
A good second choice that works the same way.
- In Apps, search for IBO Player Pro and install it.
- Open it and note the MAC address and Device Key it shows.
- On your phone, go to iboproapp.com, open Manage playlists, sign in with that MAC address and Device Key, and add your VOLTIX M3U link.
- Restart the app on the TV. It is free to try for 7 days, then you activate it with the app maker.
Seen IPTV Smarters in your Samsung store? Its Samsung app asks IPTV providers to register their server with its maker, and the store has several look-alikes, so we recommend the two apps above on Samsung.
Fixing buffering on Samsung
If a Samsung stream stutters, it's almost always the connection (use 5GHz Wi-Fi or ethernet), or a single-source stream at peak. Because VOLTIX restreams each channel through its own servers with a generous buffer, peak-time provider dips are absorbed automatically, so you don't get the mid-match freeze. Full checklist in our buffering fix guide.
